Contact us regarding Trumpetfest USA and the Dallas-Fort Worth Trumpetfest
The Trumpetfest has been held in Dallas for three years. The concept is available for other cities, and will be held in Denver,
Colorado in early 2006. For information about a Trumpetfest in your area, please contact us at this address.
The initial Trumpetfest, held in November 2003, featured about 7 or 8 vendors and was attended
sparsely attended by 25-30 trumpet players.
Horn Haven, which then went by Airstream Music, was one of the first exhibitors, as was Brook Mays and David's Instrument Repair. The first year
featured clinician Rodney Booth, who played virtually every horn in the place to compare them for the eager attendees.
In 2004, the Trumpetfest was a little larger in scope, and featured attendance by Getzen and Yamaha as well as the initial year's participants.
The featured clinicians included John Holt of the University of North Texas, and the first area appearance of the Yamaha Chicago C Trumpet.
This year, we hear that Yamaha may have its New York Bb, a new creation from the workshop of Bob Malone and Wayne Tanabe. We also believe that
Getzen will have a Mike Vax 3001MV for us to play.

 The DFW
Trumpetfest is sponsored in part by
Horn Haven and
David's Instrument Repair. The trumpetfest concept
was first staged in Dallas by Dave Stephens, a trumpet aficionado
and recreational player who now lives in Denver, Colorado.
The Trumpetfest format allows students, teachers,
professionals and comeback players to play horns and interact with
companies and fellow players they would not normally get to meet
under average circumstances.
We welcome feedback with regard to ways
to improve the Trumpetfests, and to expand them beyond the current
concept. The Trumpetfests are largely non-profit and low-key events
staged for the enjoyment of the attendees. The vendors attend as a
service to the trumpet community, although they do sell their
products at the events.
